Come to the Isle of Skye and stay in Seal Haven Self Catering Cottage.  Seal Haven Cottage is a well appointed and recently modernised hoiday cottage accommodation, standing on a hillside, overlooking Loch Dunvegan.  An award winning, top class restaurant, The Three Chimneys, is almost next door.  Dunvegan Castle, on the other side of the loch, is a five minute drive away.  The home of the chiefs of the Clan Macleod, Dunvegan Castle has been home to the same family for over seven centuries, and is said to be the longest continuously occupied residence in Scotland.  The castle is the most famous of all the castles in the Hebrides.

On Skye we have all that you would wish for in wildlife, mountain and sea.  For the visitor wishing to spend a relaxing holiday in superb surroundings, Skye will compete with the best holiday destinations anywhere.  Although the Isle of Skye and the West Coast of Scotland in general is probably Europe's last wilderness area, Skye is very accessible with good road and rail links and hopefully in the not too distant future a new air link, to Broadford, in Skye, currently at the 'planning' stage. We hope to bring you a taste of what we enjoy on the Isle of Skye. We will look at travel to Skye, where to eat and things to do when you are here. We will show you our particular corner of the Misty Isle of Skye, the wild life, the restaurants, such as the Three Chimneys and the Old Schoolhouse Restaurants nearby, Dunvegan Castle and Gardens, Skyeskyns or simply the areas where you can walk and relax in unspoiled beauty.

Many are doing just that because of the romance and uniqueness of the Highlands and Dunvegan Castle could be the venue for the wedding of your dreams.

For the fisherman, Skye, sea and freshwater Angling is as delightful as it is varied with something to suit all tastes.  We are pleased to say that conservation policies are improving the fishing prospects continuously.

Seal Haven Cottage.

May we introduce you to Seal Haven our recently renovated, self catering, traditional holiday cottage. This cottage accommodation has been home to a Skye family for nearly a century and will give you a feel for what it was like to live in a crofter's cottage, without compromising on comfort. The cottage is normally rented on a weekly basis, however, short breaks can be arranged in the quieter months of the year. Let us know your holiday requirements and we will try to help. 

The cottage is situated in the township of Skinidin, a village near Dunvegan, in the north west peninsula of the Isle of Skye. Within five minutes walk from the cottage door, lies the well known Three Chimneys Restaurant, in the adjacent township of Colbost. In addition to receiving many accolades for the quality of its cuisine, The Three Chimneys won an Observer Food Monthly award for Best Location, in 2006. It was voted by readers of this national magazine as being the best located restaurant in the UK. Look it up in the good food guides. The location is as superb as ever, and as mentioned above, Seal Haven Self-Catering Holiday Cottage is just 400 metres from the restaurant.

Wildlife abounds, and seals, otters, red deer and eagles can all be seen from the door of the cottage. A little further away at Neist Point, the most westerly headland of Skye, whales, basking sharks and a variety of sea birds are routinely spotted by our cottage guests.
