Travel Directions to Seal Haven.
A Skye Holiday Cottage for
Self Catering Accommodation
When you leave the Skye Bridge
You will find Seal Haven in Skinidin, a little hamlet on the north-western part of Skye. Assuming you come from
the Skye bridge, follow the A87 until you reach Sligachan. Turn left at Slighachan Hotel onto the A863, and you
have 24 miles to drive to the village of Dunvegan. (From the Skye Bridge you will drive approximately one hour to
reach Seal Haven).
From Dunvegan
Follow the A863 until you reach Dunvegan. Just before you enter Dunvegan at Lonmore, turn left on the B884
towards Glendale. The B884 continues with a sharp right (left will take you to Orbost). Continue on this road until
you pass the sign of Skinidin. Just as you are about to leave Skinidin and enter Colbost, you'll see the Seal Haven
sign on your left, and the cottage itself up the hill side. Take the left entrance and drive all the way up. Seal
Haven is the cottage on the left.
To the Skye Bridge
Travel by car is a common way to arrive in Skye. Also the Skye Bridge is making access to the Isle of
Skye, very easy. There are other routes to Skye of course. You can drive to Mallaig and cross by the
Calmac ferry to Armadale on Skye. Alterntively you can cross by way of the unique turntable ferry between
Glenelg and Kylerhea, on Skye. We will be adding links to these other routes and operators in our resources
page, shortly. To those using GPS, We note below the coordinates of the Skinidin and Seal Haven
Cottage. A point to note is that GPS may default to the Mallaig - Armadale ferry crossing rather than the
Skye Bridge. The ferry crossings are very nice also and you may want to incorporate those in your travel
plans and holiday.
We note some journey planners below which may be useful when planning your visit to Skye. We hope that you
chose to come to Seal Haven, Self Catering Cottage. We look forward to seeing you.
