Seal Haven Self Catering Holiday Cottage Accommodation in Skye.
Seal Haven cottage was totally refurbished to a high standard in 2003. The
original cottage was stripped back until just the four, metre thick walls remained. It was then rebuilt,
using Skye craftsmen, to its current level of comfort.
The cottage was rebuilt to make a home in Skye, and visitors have commented that
it feels that way, rather than the sometimes, cold, purpose built self catering units. We strive to maintain
that homely feel. We think that we succeed quite well in this. When you are looking for cottage
accommodation on the Isle of Skye, please do call us.
The Cottage Lounge
The front room, together with the kitchen, form the main living accommodation of
the cottage. The wood burning stove is sufficient to heat the whole house rendering the oil fired central heating
rather surplus to requirements. This is helped by the top of range insulation installed in the
accommodation.
The Cottage Kitchen
The cottage kitchen has a table where the family can gather to eat, have coffee or
simply plan the days activities. The window in the photograph, on the right is in the gable end. This is a new
inovation and affords wonderful views of the Island of Harris, across the Minch in the Outer Hebrides.
The Cottage Twin Bedroom
The twin-bedded room has views over the loch from the bed, through the low cilled
window. A light airy aspect is maintained by the Velux window in the back of the cottage. This west facing window
catches all the evening sun and on darker nights affords a superb view of the stars. There is little light
pollution in Skinidin. If you are a star watcher with a telescope then this is for you.
This room may also be configured as a king-sized double room, (shown
here in both configurations).
The Cottage Double bedroom
The double bedroom has all the atributes of the twin but this time finished with
natural pine furnishings. Nice to relax in while enjoying your morning strupag. That's your morning cup of tea or
coffee should you not have mastered the Gaelic as yet.
Watching the seal colonies bask in the
morning sun was just amazing!
